Does Adam Hollier have edge in 13th District race? It's still hard to say.
A month before the Aug. 2 primary, state Sen. Adam Hollier, D-Detroit, appears to have the wind at his back in the race for the open 13th Congressional District seat. For months, his campaign, arguably one of the better organized in a crowded field of nine Democratic candidates, had been coalescing institutional support from the likes of Wayne County Executive Warren Evans, the Rev. Wendell Anthony and most recently, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan.

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan is throwing his political heft behind state Sen. Adam Hollier in his race for Congress in the crowded nine-person Democratic field in the new 13th District.
The mayor's lending his voice and credibility to Hollier's bid could be a significant boost for him as Hollier tries to reach frontrunner status in the Democratic primary for U.S. House. The Detroit Democrat is seeking the open seat in the 13th, which covers the bulk of Detroit, Hamtramck, the Grosse Pointes and Downriver communities.

Chief Wayne County judge keeps Adam Hollier on ballot for Congress
Wayne County Circuit Court's chief judge ruled Tuesday that Michigan Sen. Adam Hollier's name can remain on the Democratic primary ballot for U.S. Congress in the 13th District.
"Sen. Hollier is legitimately on the ballot," Judge Timothy Kenny said Tuesday in issuing his ruling.
