An open seat in Michigan's redrawn 13th Congressional District has attracted a flood of Democratic hopefuls and raised the issue of what kind of minority candidate should represent the bulk of Detroit, a predominantly Black city.

Today, Senator Adam Hollier announced that during the second quarter of 2022, he raised $412,983, bringing his campaign total to date to $929,495.56.

DETROIT - Today, the SEIU Local 1 endorsed state Senator Adam Hollier for Michigan’s 13th Congressional District. Service Employees International Union Local 1 is composed of 50,000 working people throughout the Midwest including janitors, security officers, higher education faculty, school custodians, and food service workers. Local 1 is the founding Local of the Service Employees International Union and was started in Chicago in 1904.
